PERFORMANCE OF THE ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2005

1.Relations with other organizations

1. FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

GOAL 1.

Ensuring AYLA’s financial sustainability, search for new funding sources, and efficient utilization of free financial means:

  • Obtaining new external and internal funding sources.
  • Efficient use of free financial means.

ACTIVITY 1.

Organization of proposal-drafting trainings for the heads of regional branches and other interested members of the organization.

1.1. Develop the timetable and the plan of trainings:
For reasonable purposes these activities are shifted to the next year.

1.2. Submit at least 6 project-proposals to donor organizations:
In 2005 AYLA continued implementation of 2 projects that had started during the past years, the organization submitted 6 project proposals to the donor organizations, 5 proposals were financed and currently are being implement by AYLA offices, 1 project proposal is in the discussion stage. 1 project proposal, which was submitted in 2004, was denied in 2005.

1.3. Utilization of free financial means after discussion with the AYLA Board and AYLA members. Develop the timetable and the plan of trainings:
In the result of the discussion with the AYLA Board and AYLA members it was decided to use the free financial means of the organization to cover a part of the expenses of the AYLA office space.

 

GOAL 2.

Promotion of the activities of “New Legal Group” LLC through involvement of new partners.

In 2005 “New Legal Group” LLC was renamed and reregistered as “LEGAL ALLIANCE” LLC. The Company has obtained partners and changed its image. Currently the company is carrying activities to involve new clients.

 

2. PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

GOAL 1

Establishing the effectiveness of projects and provided services.

ACTIVITY 1.

Clarification of the mechanisms for establishing and ensuring feedback with beneficiaries.

1.1. Establishing professional standards for the evaluation of services provided by legal consultants:
Establishment of the professional standards for the evaluation of provided services is in elaboration stage. The elaboration of the standards and their testing will be accomplished next year.

1.2. Review of the registration list for legal aid:
AYLA lawyer-advisors have reviewed the registration lists for legal aid and made technical and content amendments. The section “the source of learning about the organization” has been added in the new version. The new registration list is used since 1 August.

1.3. Disseminating information about the results of provided services over the phone about the activities described in the section “undertaken activities ” of the consultancy list:
36 beneficiaries who received certain services from the AYLA lawyers, such as compiling of the written documents, court representation and other were selected. The results of their cases were found out through the phone calls. 14 cases of the 36 beneficiaries were solved successfully. 11 court representation cases from 14 that were carried out by the AYLA lawyers were solved in favour of the clients. 2 cases are still in process.

 

GOAL 2

Bringing the AYLA services to maximum conformity with the needs of beneficiary groups:

ACTIVITY 1

Needs assessment of the beneficiary groups:
A focus group of AYLA beneficiaries, as well as the questionnaire for the focus group was developed aimed at carrying needs assessment of the AYLA professional committees. More purposeful activities in this direction will start soon.
