Ms Marie L. Yovanovitch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia and Dr. Jatinder Cheema, USAID/Armenia Mission Director visited the Advocacy and Assistance Center of Tavush Marz of the RA

On 11 June 2010, the Advocacy and Assistance Center of Tavush Marz of the RA hosted Ms Marie L. Yovanovitch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia and Dr. Jatinder Cheema, USAID/Armenia Mission Director.

During the visit the guests met with Mr. Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President, Mr. Vahagn Tamrazyan, Head of Tavush AAC, Mrs. Arpine Yeghikyan, lawyer of the project, Mr. Ashot Hovhannisyan, President of “Dilnet Service” Educational NGO, and Mr. Armen Shahnazaryan, President of “Young Tavush” Youth NGO. Mr. Zadoyan introduced the activities and results of Tavush AAC to the guest and answered their questions. On the request of Ambassador Ms Yovanovitch, Mrs. Arpine Yeghikyan, lawyer of the project, spoke introduced the progress of the court cases, which the AAC currently conducted. Further, on the request of Dr. Jatinder Cheema, Mr. Karen Zadoyan and Mr. Vahagn Tamrazyan explained the role and importance of the Memorandums of Understanding signed with Tavush regional administration and a number of community heads of the Marz in the framework of the project. The parties introduced their viewpoints on the future financial sustainability of the AAC as well. During the meeting Mr. Ashot Hovhannisyan and Mr. Armen Shahnazaryan spoke about the activities of their organizations. The meeting was held in friendly and easy atmosphere.
