On 28 May 2010, the US Alumni Association of Armenia hosted 4 participants of the International Visitors and Leadership Program 2010. The group of representatives of the law enforcement bodies: Arthur Davtyan, Arthur Ghambaryan and Simon Harutyunyan was engaged in a Program on Combating Trafficking.
The meeting started at 18.30 at the AYLA Central Office in Yerevan. It was opened by Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President, who as a board member of the USAAA and the coordinator of short-term training programs, introduced this association to the guests and expressed the hope that all other US alumni will be kindly sharing their experience after returning to the Republic of Armenia. Further Arthur Davtyan spoke about the trafficking issues in the Republic of Armenia and the USA and mentioned that while the Armenia is dealing mainly with the outer trafficking USA mainly deals with the inner trafficking.
He also mentioned the huge role the NGOs have in the USA in combating human trafficking. Arthur Ghambaryan added that the NGO's collaboration with the state has risen rapidly during the last years.
The students and the AYLA volunteers who were participating in the meeting had the chance to ask questions and introduce their recommendations and suggestions, which resulted in rather interesting and brisk discussion on combating trafficking in Armenia..

In conclusion Khachik Gevorgyan, Executive Director of the USAAA invited the IVLP audience to organize such seminars, deliver lectures for a bigger audience, and share experience with other interested individuals.
