Series of Anticorruption Events in Hrazdan
Series of events “The Role of Local Self Government Bodies in the Protection of Human Rights and Struggle against Corruption,” which was organized by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) and the Advocacy and Assistance Center (AAC) of Kotayk Marz of the RA took place in Ijevan city on 12.05.2010.
Prior to the beginning of the seminar the participants organized an Anticorruption March, which took place in the Central District of Hrazdan City. Further the participants of the march, among them Mr. Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President organized a tree planting event and founded an Anticorruption Grove in Hrazdan.
The seminar started with the report on the 12 Months’ Activities Implemented by the AAC of Kotayk Marz of the Republic of Armenia. After that Mr. Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President spoke about the “System and Procedural Level Reforms as the Most Important Tool for Struggle against Corruption.” Then Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Head of the RA Kotayk Marz AAC, reported on “The Role of Local Self Government Bodies in the Protection of Human Rights and Struggle against Corruption.” Officials from different bodies of the local self government, as well as representatives from international and local organizations and from mass media attended the seminar.
Summarizing of the results of competition of compositions of the schoolchildren “Corruption is and Evil” took place after the seminar. The winners received certificates and prizes.
