Series of Anticorruption Events in Ijevan

Series of events “Anticorruption Awareness as the Most Important Tool for the Prevention of Corruption,” which was organized by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) and the Advocacy and Assistance Center (AAC) of Tavush Marz of the RA took place in Ijevan city on 12.05.2010.
The seminar “Anticorruption Awareness as the Most Important Tool for the Prevention of Corruption” opened the series. Officials from different bodies of the local self government, as well as representatives from international and local organizations and from mass media attended the seminar. Mr. Karen Zadoyan, president of the AYLA introduced to the attention of the participants the report “Anticorruption Awareness as the Most Important Tool for the Prevention of Corruption.” Further Mr. Mr. Vahagn Tamrazyan, Head of the RA Tavush Marz AAC reported on 20 months’ activities implemented by the AAC of Tavush Marz of the Republic of Armenia.
After a short interval the volunteers of Tavush AAC started implementation of “From Door-to-Door” project. The volunteers visited the houses and flats of Ijevan citizens and distributed information leaflets on different sphere of the citizens’ rights and called them to apply to Ijevan AAC whenever their rights should be violated
Further the participants of the event, among them Mr. Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President, Mr. Varuzhan Nersisyan, Mayor of Ijevan city,  to the bank of the river Aghstev and organized tree planting the Anticorruption Alley in Ijevan city.
After the tree planting a Press Conference was held in the office of Tavush AAC.

At the end, the ceremony of handing Commendation Certificates to the volunteers, citizens, journalists, and the partners of the AAC, for contribution in the activities of protection of human rights and struggle against corruption in the RA Tavush Marz took place.
