Seminar on the “Reforms of the Legislation regulating the Women’s Political Participation Sphere” in the AYLA Central Office

On 31 March 2010 the concluding seminar of the series of seminars on the Reforms of the Legislation regulating the Women’s Political Participation Sphere was held in the AYLA Central Office in Yerevan. Miss Sona Harutyunyan, lawyer of Yerevan Branch of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association facilitated the seminar. AYLA members and volunteers, law students as well as representatives of NGOs attended the seminar.
The participants introduced their observations and recommendations referring to the RA Electoral Code and the RA Law on Political Parties.

Further, after summarizing the suggestions and recommendations collected during the seminars on the Reforms of the Legislation regulating the Women’s Political Participation Sphere it is planned to prepare a package of suggestions and recommendation for legislative changes referring to the articles of the RA Electoral Code and the RA Law on Political Parties, which will promote the women’s political participation and gender equality and introduce the package of the Draft Legislative Changes to the attention of the National Assembly and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
