Official Ceremony of Signing of Memorandum of Understating between Tavush Marzpetaran and Armenian Young Lawyers Association took place in the Office of Tavush Advocacy and Assistance Center on 26.02.2010
Seminar “System and Procedural Level Reforms as the most Important Components of Anticorruption Policies,” which was aimed at establishing practical partnership relations with the local and state government bodies took place in Tavush Advocacy and Assistance Center, which is operated by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association NGO. On the assumption of importance of cooperation of state government bodies with the civil society organizations during the struggle against corruption, the participants of the seminar introduced viewpoints, recommendations and practical steps directed towards system and procedural level changes. Representatives of state and local government bodies, international organizations, NGO and mass media, among them Deputy Chief of Party of the USAID MAAC Activity, Deputies of the Governor of Tavush Marz, Mayors of Ijevan and Berd cities, the Chairperson of the First Instance Courts of General Jurisdiction and the Prosecutor of Tavush Marz, law enforcement bodies, heads of province entities, as well as representatives of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association attended the seminar.
After completion of the first part of the seminar, official Ceremony of Signing of Memorandum of Understating between Tavush Marzpetaran and Armenian Young Lawyers Association was held. Mr. Armen Gevorgyan, RA Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration, Mr. Armen Ghularyan, RA Tavush Marz Governor, Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the AYLA President were present at the Ceremony of Signing. It is noteworthy that prior to signing the Memorandum of Understating with Tavush Governor, the Armenian Young Lawyers Association had signed such memorandums with the City Administrations of Ijevan, Dilijan, Berd, and Noyemberyan. The primary objective of signing these memorandums is to prevent and decrease corruption risks in Tavush Marz of the RA, as well as to promote increase of efficiency of struggle against corruption and to raise the level of awareness on the importance of struggle against corruption among the population of the Marz, and to assist to procedural and system level reforms in the legislation, which includes corrupt risks, etc.
