Official Opening Ceremony of Advocacy and Assistance Center of Kotayk Marz held in Hrazdan City
On 27 May 2009, the official opening ceremony of Advocacy and Assistance Center of Kotayk Marz supported by the Mobilizing Action against Corruption (MAAC) Activity of USAID, which is implemented by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, took place in Hrazdan City.
The Governor of Aragatsotn Marz of the RA, representatives of the RA Governmental and Local Government Bodies, as well as of the international and non-governmental organizations, and mass media attended the ceremony.
Ter Harutyun, Abbot of Hrazdan Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church opened the ceremony by blessing. Further Mr. Mark Levinson, USAID Democracy Advisor, Mr. Kovalenko Shahgaldyan, Governor of the RA Kotayk Marz, and Mr. Grisha Mikaelyan, Prosecutor of Kotayk Marz held speeches. The Prosecutor of Kotayk Marz expressed willingness and readiness to cooperate with the center, and informed that their office will attend all applications sent by the AAC and undertake all the necessary measures to reveal the corruption risks.
In his closing speech Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association noted the role and importance of establishing the AAC in Kotayk Marz and said that the center will promote raising legal awareness among the population of Kotayk Marz as well as assist to decrees of the corruption risks and combat this evil. Further Mr. Zadoyan familiarized the guests with the activities of the Center and invited the guests to the reception.
