Official Opening Ceremony of Advocacy and Assistance Center of Aragatsotn Marz supported by the Mobilizing Action against Corruption Activity of USAID took place in Ashtarak
On 25 May 2009, the official opening ceremony of Advocacy and Assistance Center of Aragatsotn Marz supported by the Mobilizing Action against Corruption (MAAC) Activity of USAID, which is implemented by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, took place in Ashtarak City.
The Governor of Aragatsotn Marz of the RA, the Head of Aragatsotn Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church, representatives of the RA Governmental and Local Government Bodies, as well as of the international and non-governmental organizations, and mass media attended the ceremony.
The ceremony started by blessing of Monk Ter Grigor Khachatryan, Abbot of Aragatsotn Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church. Further Mr. Hrachya Gevorgyan, head of staff of Aragatsotn Marzpetaran, Mr. Mark Levinson, USAID Democracy Advisor, Mr. Arman Gasparyan, Senior Prosecutor of Aragatsotn Marz, and Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association greeted the participants of the opening ceremony and attached importance to the fact of establishing Advocacy and Assistance Center in Aragatsotn Marz, and hoped it would have significant role and importance in carrying out successful struggle against corruption and its elimination in the Marz.
