About the Radio Programs
Armenian Young Lawyers Association implemented an "Information Dissemination" sub-project in the bounds of a larger project "The Armenia - Public Sector Reform Programme", which was carried out by the Great Britain's Department for International Development (DFID) and the Government of Armenia. AYLA as a local counterpart of the above-mentioned consortium broadcast 16 radio programs about the public services provided by RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and Science. Below you can find the records of the broadcast radio programs prepared by the journalist Mariam Hovsepyan.

 

03.05.2004
1st radio program: "Introduction"

Summary
Armen Khudaverdyan, deputy manager of the project "The Armenia - Public Sector Reform Programme" and advocate Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President introduced the goals and objectives of the project "The Armenia - Public Sector Reform Programme" as well as of its sub-project "Information Dissemination" to the public.

Summary
Advocate David Abgaryan, AYLA Vice-President informed the public about RA Law on Freedom of Information and clarified the moot points.

3rd radio program: "Changes in the System of Social benefits for Poverty in 2004"

Summary
Astghik Minasyan, head of the Social Support Department of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues and Sergey Abrahamyan head of Social department of Avan Community of Yerevan provided information and clarifications on changes in the system of allowances for poverty, which took place in 2004.

4th radio program: "Procedure of Granting and payment of financial aid to War Veterans, People equalized to War Veterans, and the Families of Killed and Invalid Military Men"

Summary
Jemma Baghdasaryan, head of the Department on Invalids and Elderly Issues of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues provided information and clarified the procedure of granting and payment of financial aid to war veterans, people equalized to the war veterans, and the families of killed and invalid military men.

5th radio program: "Provision of Social services to Lonely Elderly at Home and in Boarding Houses"

Summary
The program began with a report from the Boarding House for Elderly of Nork, whish tells about the services and life conditions of the old people there. The elderly told about their life at the Boarding House.
After the interviews with the old people, Jemma Baghdasaryan, head of the Department on Invalids and Elderly Issues of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues spoke about the strategies carried out in the Republic of Armenia as well as clarified the types of the social services provided to the elderly people.

Summary
Lala Ghazaryan, head of the department on Women and Children Issues of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues, presents the project "Introduction of the Institute of Guardian Family in Armenia" and clarified the moot points during the radio program.

7th Radio Program: "Introduction of the Social Cards' System and the Use of the Social Cards"

Summary
Marat Atomvyan, the Executive Director of "Progress" Center for Social Research and Artem Asatryan, head of the Department of Social and Pension Insurance of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues, informed the audience on the introduction of the System of Social Cards' and the Use of the Social Cards during the radio program.

8th Radio Program: "Responses of the Audience concerning the Radio Programs on Labor and Social Issues."

Summary
Responses received from the audience concerning 5 radio programs on Labor and Social Issues, which have been broadcast in the bounds of the Information Dissemination project that the Armenian Young Lawyers Association is currently implementing, were discussed at the radio program "Responses of the Audience concerning the Radio Programs on Labor and Social Issues." At the beginning of the program Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President summarized the responses received from the audience, which manly refer to the introduction of the Social Cards System and their application as well as to the changes that were made in 2004 in the procedure of granting allowances and the order of payment of the allowances to war veterans, people equalized to war veterans, and the families of killed and invalid military men. Then Ara Petrosyan, Vice-Ministry of Labor and Social Issues of RA answered to the questions of the audience.

Ara Ter-Grigoryan, head of the department of Medical Services of RA Health Ministry rendered information and clarified the procedure of medical services provided to the population according to the types of the diseases in the bounds of the Government Order.

Ara Ter-Grigoryan, head of the department of Medical Services of RA Health Ministry presented information and clarifications on the medical services provided to the Social Groups in the Bounds of the Government Order.

The 16th Radio Program: "Concluding Radio Program and Summarizing the Results of the Radio Series on the Activities carried out in the Sphere of Healthcare, Education, Labor and Social Issues in the Framework of the Sub-Project "Dissemination of Information"

Summary
At the beginning of the program "Concluding Radio Program and Summarizing the Results of the Radio Series on the Activities carried out in the Sphere of Healthcare, Education, Labor and Social Issues in the Framework of the Sub-Project "Dissemination of Information" the audience listened to a radio report from the concluding seminar, which was organized at the end of the sub-project. The participants of the seminar, representatives of the corresponding ministries of RA, regional administrations and non-governmental organizations expressed their positive opinions concerning the radio programs. They were followed by the concluding reports of Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President and Carl Ulbricht, international expert of the project "The Armenia - Public Sector Reform Programme" who noted the productive and useful activities, which were carried out in the framework of the sub-project "Dissemination of Information".
