Realized Activities

Activities implemented in the bounds of the Internship Program for Armenian Lawyers and Law Students of Diaspora for 2007 include:

1. Translation and editing

• The AYLA volunteer translated some articles of the monthly Legal Newsletter, which AYLA publishes in the framework of the project “Protection of the Human Rights and Development of the Mechanisms for Raising Public Awareness in Armenia.”
• Revision of the documents and materials that are published on the English version of the AYLA website.
• Helped to draft letters in English to potential new European partners, with the goal of fundraising.

2. Legal practice

• Participated in the legal advice services, which the AYLA lawyers provided to the clients, as well as studied the current court cases
• Attended the court hearings with the AYLA advocates.

3. Discussions and Seminars

• The AYLA volunteer organized discussions on comparative analysis of the law institute in Armenia and in the United Kingdom, as well as on other issues of concern.

He also prepared, organized, presented and participated in a series of seminars to Law students on several legal matters. Including "The Court Structure in the Republic of Armenia and England", "Contract Law in the United Kingdom and Armenia", "The Impact of European Court Decisions on England", "Human Rights Institutes in Armenia and England", "The Role of Advocates in the Field of Human Rights", "The Rights of Non-citizens in other Jurisdictions", "The Protection of Civil Rights in England and Armenia", "The Protection of Employment Rights", "Equal Rights and Opportunities in Armenia and England".
