Internship Program for Armenian Lawyers and Law Students of Diaspora for 2006

Realized Activities

Tatevik worked with the AYLA in August–September 2006. She participated in the legal advice services, which the AYLA lawyers provided to the clients, as well as studied the current court cases. Tatevik met with the AYLA associate members and the law students and discussed the issues of concern referring to different professional spheres.
Tatevik translated the materials of the first two issues of the monthly Legal Newsletter, which AYLA publishes in the framework of the project “Protection of the Human Rights and Development of the Mechanisms for Raising Public Awareness in Armenia.”
The Legal Newsletter touches the problems, which exist in the legal and legislative sphere of Armenia, and introduces serious studies referring to those, as well as to the problems of the protection of human rights. The Newsletter also analyses the legislative field and advocates professional ethics for the judges, advocates, and the representatives of the law enforcement bodies. It is aimed at introducing the international legal practice and promotes the education of the new generation of lawyers in Armenia. The twelve issues of the Legal Newsletter, which should be translated into English as well, will be published during the next months and distributed among the interested structures and individuals.
