AYLA Volunteer’s Report

Activities implemented in the bounds of the Internship Program Summer 2005

Translation	1. Study of AYLA website and making corresponding suggestions on the English version.	The AYLA volunteer studied the English versions of the AYLA website and prepared suggestions, which will be published on the website after the revision.
	2. Study of the grant proposals prepared by AYLA and introduction of corresponding suggestions and comments concerning the translation.	The AYLA volunteer reviewed the grant proposals of the organization and offered suggestions, which were considered when compiling the project proposal.
	3. Revision of the current translations. Making suggestions and comments.	The AYLA volunteer edited the letters sent to the donors, and made suggestions and comments on the current correspondence with the AYLA partner organizations; translated news pieces for the news section of the website; edited the English version of the AYLA Development Plan; was involved in the translation of the information on the AYLA activities and project implementation reports.
	4. Translations with the support of the AYLA translator and the Assistant to AYLA President.	The volunteer translated news on AYLA event. Translation of the article on the current state of the Judiciary system in Armenia.
English language trainings	5. Conduct an eight-week English language training aimed at the improvement of spoken English of AYLA members.	The AYLA volunteer conducted 9 trainings for a group of 5 AYLA members and staff members on the following themes: The Education System in the Republic of Armenia and in European countries. Should money be a determinative for the individuals who implement justice? Comparison of the RA Constitution with the Constitutions of the European countries. Armenia’s membership in the European Union and the European Council Electronic Means of Communication: Advantages and Shortcomings. Civil and Constitutional Reforms in Armenia and the Referendum Trends for Artsakh Conflict Resolution. How can the Armenian youth improve the life in Armenia? Social problems in Armenia.
	6. Organization of thematic discussions in English with AYLA members and staff members.	The AYLA volunteer carried out discussions and conversations on the up-to-date issues of concern of the staff members.
Consultancy	7. Participation in legal advocacy activities with AYLA legal advisors.	The AYLA volunteer participated in legal advice activities in the AYLA Office, studied the cases, where AYLA members compiled documents or realized court representation activities. He attended three court hearings where the AYLA layers represented the interests of their beneficiaries.
Work with AYLA professional committees	8. meetings with the committee heads 9. discussions on corresponding spheres of legislation and law with the committee members 10. familiarization with the Armenian legislation with the support of AYLA lawyers or during the work with the AYLA committees (twice in one month) 11. elaboration of Internet pages for the AYLA professional committees, prepare proposals and organize other activates for the committees	On the assumption of work volumes an AYLA volunteer has mainly met with AYLA professional committee Heads and disscussed some actual issues.
